I see (from here on the BBC news site) that Jack Straw has 'warned killing or capturing Osama Bin Laden would not stop further acts of terrorism being carried out by the al-Qaeda network.' The cutting insight of the man is awesome, isn't it? I await with eagerness his 'revelations' that Bin Laden may not have directly authorised the WTC bombings, that the Northern Alliance have an appalling human rights record, and that this recently discovered thing called a 'sky' appears to be somewhat blue in colour.

Mind you, I love the attempt further down the page by a spokesman for Tony Blair to reconcile Jack Straw's viewpoint with Geoff Hoon's, which blissfully ignores the fact that a bad metaphor is a bad metaphor - you don't make it better by extending it. 'If you remove the head that does not mean you are not going to have to cut off other limbs elsewhere...' apparently. Clearly Tony Blair's been playing too much Zombies recently.
