I got hit by a car while cycling home today. I'm okay, but for a value of okay that involved spending five hours at Whipps Cross A & E where they put my fractured left wrist in plaster. I have a nasty graze on my cheek, too. Nothing life-threatening, or likely to be long-term serious.
All plans for the next week or so are potentially off, and any plans involving my driving a car any time in the next couple of months should be re-arranged (sorry

Date: 2009-02-10 06:21 am (UTC)Unfortunately, about all I know about the car is that it's a pale-coloured saloon; it has a bonnet (I know this because that's what hit me) and a boot/trunk (I know this because I saw it disappearing round the next corner). It wasn't even going especially fast. I'd seen it and thought 'car seems to be slowing down for the junction: has presumably seen me and will stop so I don't need to emergency brake ... fuck! *thud* *crunch*'. I'm really not into asserting priority over cars on my bicycle however in the right I know I am - that's not a battle one can win.
