[livejournal.com profile] lizw, [livejournal.com profile] yoyoangel and I will be doing the final section of the Lea Valley walk this Sunday (16 September). We'll be doing a roughly triangular walk, starting where Eastway crosses the Lea, doing the section which has been re-opened today past the Olympic Park to Three Mills, following the Lea Navigation and Limehouse Cut to the Thames at the Limehouse Basin, walking along the Thames and trhough Canary Wharf to Blackwall and then returning up the River Lea to Three Mills.

We'll be meeting on Eastway Bridge at 11am here: (streetmap), (Google Maps). The nearest station is Hackney Wick on the London Overground, although it's walkable from Leyton on the Central Line, and there are buses to nearby roads from Hackney. If you use the postcode E9 5JD at TfL journey planner, it will get you close enough.

If you want to come on the walk, but aren't sure about finding us on the bridge, let me know, and I'll try to arrange to meet you at one of the nearby stations.

As with other Lea Valley walks, we'll be taking a picnic lunch and eating it somewhere on the way.

Looking forward to seeing some of you there.

As fate would have it, it looks like I'll be walking Canary Wharf to Limehouse as part of the MCC/Unitarian Fellowship Walk on Saturday! Ah well, not to worry. Good job I like the Thames ;-)
